ROB|ARCH2024 saw eight hands-on workshops run over three days at the University of Toronto’s Daniels Faculty and Toronto Metropolitan University’s Design + Technology Lab.

Overseen and organized by workshop leads Jonathon Anderson, Nicholas Hoban and Zachary Mollica, these intensive courses were hosted by an international cohort of leading researchers and practitioners who were joined by 115 participants.

Interfacing between digital and physical worlds, each of the eight workshops touched on a different domain of robotics research, picking up on both emerging and well-established pathways in robotic art, research, design, and construction. Below are credits and a short description of what participants in each workshop were exposed to. On the opposite page, are images from the three workshops selected as best and runner up workshops.

The workshops, including video and prototypes, were featured in Beyond Optimization: ROB|ARCH Retrospective, an exhibition put on at Toronto's InterAccess Gallery.
